Shinsegae E&C’s privacy policy is as follows.
Our privacy policy stipulates the terms and conditions for the operation of our website. It observes all of South Korea’s rules and regulations regarding the protection of personal information, including the Act on Promotion of the Utilization of Information and Communications Networks.

Our website privacy policy includes the following:

   information that we collect

Shinsegae E&C does not require people to take out a membership in order to access any of its content, services, data, and so on from its website. However, we do collect the following personal information to aid us in processing user enquiries that have been made to our Customer Center or CSR Hotline.

- Customer services at Customer Center: Name, telephone number, mobile phone number, email address, IP addres
- Ordering Enquiries at Customer Center: Customer Information(Ordering organization, department, name of staff in charge, work telephone number, mobile phone number, email address), Provider Information(Department, name, relationship to customer, work telephone number, mobile phone number, email address, IP address)
- CSR Hotline: Name, telephone number, email address, gender, provider information, title, IP address

2. Why We Collect and
    Use Personal
   Information

The personal information that our users provide to us when they are making enquiries at our Customer Center or posting submissions on our CSR Hotline will only be used to assist us in replying to their enquiries. We do not require any other kind of information, and you can refuse to enter it if you wish to. Any personal information that is provided to us by our users shall not be used for other purposes or distributed to third parties without the users’ prior approval.

3. Sharing and

The company does not share its users' personal information with third parties. Despite this, the following exceptions may apply

  • - If the user agrees to such sharing in advance
  • - If the information has been requested by law enforcement authorities pursuant to any and all regulations and procedures stipulated by the laws of the Republic of South Korea
4. Consignment of the

We have consigned the operation of our personal information processes to the following. The security of such personal information is guaranteed by the consignee at the time of signing the contract, and is in accordance with any and all regulations and procedures stipulated by the Republic of Korea.

5. Period of Use and
   Possession of
   Personal Information

We destroy most of the personal information that we receive as soon as the reason for its being requested has been achieved. However, we do retain the following information for three years, for the reasons given below.

  • Items to be retained: Name, telephone number, mobile phone number, email address
  • Reason for retention: Records concerning the handling of consumer complaints or disputes
  • Retention period: Three years (As per stipulations of Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.)
6. Procedure for
   Destroying Personal
   Information

We destroy most of the personal information that we receive as soon as the reason for its being requested has been achieved. This is done as follows:

Destruction Procedure
Any personal information that has been collected is either transferred to a separate database or a separate document holder, and destroyed after the retention period has passed, if the provider has requested that this be done. The personal information under consideration shall not be used for any purpose other than retention, unless it is required by legal authorities acting under any and all regulations and procedures stipulated by the Republic of Korea.
Destruction Method
Personal information that has been printed on paper will either be shredded or incinerated. Personal information that has been stored in the form of an electronic file will be removed by using a technological method that makes it impossible to be reproduced.
7. Rights of Users and
   Their Legal
   Representatives,
   and Their Execution

Users can view and/or revise any personal information that they have provided. They can also request that it be deleted. In order to do this, users are required to contact our staff members in charge of the management of personal information. They can do this by letter, by phone, or by email. We will act on their request without delay. If a user asks that errors in his or her personal information be corrected, none of his or her personal information will be used until the corrections have been made. In the event that erroneous personal information has already been offered to a third party or parties, they will be notified about the corrections immediately. We process all personal information that has been cancelled or deleted at the request of a user as stated in the "Period of Retention and Use of Collected Personal Information" given above. We also ensure that it will not be viewed or used for any other purpose.

8. Regarding the installation

We do not use cookies to store personal information.

9. Technological and
   administrative
   measures for the
   protection of personal
   information

We take the following steps to prevent any loss, theft, leakage, forgery, or damage to users’ personal information.

  • - Shinsegae E&C ensures that any and all personal information that it collects is protected through the firewall system of its website server and network.
  • - Users' personal information and passwords are encrypted for purposes of storage and management in such a way that no one else can access them. We also deploy additional security functions, including encrypting files and transferred data or using file locking.
  • - We have also installed a security program to ensure that users’ personal information cannot be leaked or damaged by hackers or computer viruses. The system is monitored and updated on a regular basis. It has been installed in an area that is off-limits to anyone but authorized staff.
  • - Only authorized personnel are allowed to access users’ personal information. They have all undergone specialized training in the area of data information security.

We appoint specialized staff members to be in charge of managing personal information. This allows us to protect our users' personal information and deal with complaints as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Users can make complaints regarding the protection of personal information while they are using our services to our staff or the department in charge of the management of personal information. We will reply to them as quickly as we can.
